If their birthdays are around the corner and you are looking for a way to turn things around, a jungle cake will do the trick. In this post, we share a recipe for a jungle theme cake. Read on.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • A ¼ cup of cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • ¼ cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

Icing:

  • 2 cups of whipped cream
  • ½ cup of maple syrup
  • Chocolate for garnishing as required
  • Your kid’s favorite  fruit crush or orange or strawberry
  • A few drops of edible green and blue colors
  • ½ cup of cake jelly
  • 3 to 4 Chocolate sticks
  • 3 to 4 Oat cookies
  • ½ cup of liquid chocolate

Method

Strain the baking powder, soda, cocoa powder, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Mix-in your desired color with jelly and pour a few drops of water and pour on the cupcake formed mountains. Add milk, vanilla essence, and oil, then slowly mix in the dry ingredients. Place it in a preheated pan and bake for about 50 to 55 minutes. Check if the cake is well baked by poking it with a toothpick. And if the toothpick is clean, then you’re doing a good job, you now need to go on to the next task. Remember to turn off the oven and let the cake cool completely.

Use a sharp knife to carefully cut into the layers, then soak the cake in maple syrup. You have to take the time to let each phase stick. Now spread whipped cream into the jungle’s peaks. Paste the fruit crush on the layered cake and finish up with whipped cream. Do take your time on this phase and keep repeating the process until you cover the whole cake in cream.

Place the cupcakes on top of the cake and paste them with maple syrup and whipped cream molding a mountain-like shape. When done, store the cake in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Always make sure it lays on a flat surface. Take out of the refrigerator and paste the blue jelly on a newly formed mountain of cupcakes and make it look like a river flowing.

Now you need to make other jungle features like trees. Take the cookies and dip them in liquid chocolate and refrigerate. Using the same process dip the choco sticks in chocolate and paste on the cookie. Add a dash of greenery, whip in the green color with cream, and pour in the cones using the grass nozzle attachment. Also, paste in the green color for grass on the cake mountain. Make trees on the frozen cookies and place them on the cake. Finish the cake decorations with their favorite animals.
